Oxandrolone
Oxandrolone (also known under the trademark Anavar, Oksandrin, Vasorome, Anatrofill, etc.) - an anabolic steroid created by Searle Laboratories Company and released under the trademark Anavar in 1964.
Oxandrolone is a synthetic derivative of dihydrotestosterone, in which the second carbon atom is substituted by an oxygen atom. Oxandrolone is widely known for its extremely low androgenic activity level, along with high anabolic index.
Initially, oxandrolone has been developed for the treatment of debilitated HIV-infected patients, Turner syndrome, anemia, for recovery from burns, for strengthening of bones, but soon it began actively applied in bodybuilding, after which Anavar was listed as controlled drug.

The first signs of liver damage are pain in the right upper hypochondrium, pale stools and dark urine.
Since Anavar is a derivative of dihydrotestosterone, it does not aromatize (not converted into estrogens, which cause such side effects as gynecomastia and fluid retention in the body).
Oxandrolone has no significant effect on the level of production of natural testosterone in moderate doses (does not inhibit the axis hypothalamus-pituitary-testes on the feedback mechanism). When the dosage of Anavar is high, the body responds by reduced production of gonadotropin, suggesting that endogenous level of testosterone is too high. Absence of stimulation of Leydig cells leads to atrophy of the testicles. Oxandrolone used at the dose of 80 mg per day suppresses testosterone level for 67% after 12 weeks of intake.
The suppression of testosterone production is manifested by reduced libido and weak erection. To eliminate this side effect of oxandrolone you should add gonadotropin into the course or conduct combined courses with androgenic drugs.
Also, sometimes there are such side effects of Anavar as loss of appetite, abdominal pain, nausea, headaches, rise in blood pressure and some others.
In general, side effects of oxandrolone are rare. Anavar is one of the most safe steroids.
The course of oxandrolone
