Turanabol

Turanabol (Oral) (chemical 4-chlorodehydromethiltestosterone) - an anabolic steroid that is similar in chemical structure and effects to methandrostenolone. The word "oral" in the title means that the given anabolic drug is administered orally (by mouth). The difference is that Turanabol contains additional chlorine atom. The drug was first developed by German pharmaceutical company Jenapharm and patented in 1961.

Historical Background

During the tense race in the Olympic Games in the 60s of the last century Eastern Germany developed many high-effective anabolic steroids, including drug Turanabol. The developers described it as a combined version of methandrostenolone and Oxandrolone with moderate anabolic effect (comparable to testosterone) and a low incidence of side effects. The creator is Albert Stachowiak.

Description

The drug can be described as Methandrostenolone without the effect of fluid retention in the body. It is a steroid with delayed action. During the course of Turanabol weight, power rates and relief progress very slow, but according to the words of the athletes, these results are more efficient. 

Another distinctive feature of the drug - absence of the estrogen effects (as it is not subject to aromatization due to the addition of chloride ion into the molecule), that is side effects like accumulation of fluid, gynecomastia, etc. practically do not occur. Although there is feedback in which it is reported about the development of gynecomastia, the mechanism of development of which remains unknown. The most likely reason - the presence in the composition of methyltestosterone which is connected with the peculiarities of the synthesis. Also, it was determined that the concentration of SHBG reduces, thus increasing the level of free testosterone in the blood. There is the information that Turanabol reduces the risk of blood clots in blood vessels and heart.

Course

During the preparations for the Olympic Games optimal dose of the drug that caused minimum negative consequences was selected - 20-40 mg per day, divided into three intakes.  The drug can be applied during the growth of muscle mass, as well as during “drying”. Turanabol course does not require anti-estrogens and gonadotropin intake (in case if its duration is not more than 6-8 weeks). Taking into account that the influence on the mass is not sugnificant, the course of Turanabol "solo" is not considered preferable in bodybuilding.

Combined course of Turanabol (20 mg per day) + 250 mg of testosterone enanthate per week (or + sustanon) is better for the muscle mass growth. The duration average 6 weeks. First Turanabol is canceled, and after a week - enanthate.

The athletes who are not interested in the growth of mass and try to increase speed and endurance (boxers, wrestlers, runners, etc.) are recommended lower doses - 10-20 mg per day.

Side effects

Turanabol is a 17- alkylated anabolic steroid, which allows oral administration, however, creates toxic effect on the liver, which is comparable with methandrostenolone. In general, side effects are very seldom and most often connected with excess of the course duration and high doses. This drug moderately suppresses the secretion of autologous testosterone.

Only one official report on the side effect for over 5 years of use of Turanabol in relatively high doses was registered.
